Hiking in the mountains

We went hiking in the mountains this Saturday. This was Cody's first visit to the mountains.

We have a wonderful dog, who eats all kind of vegetables  and fruits. Mostly he likes strawberry, watermelons, tomatoes, cucumbers and corn. Way to go Cody!!!

I finished my down raglan sweater. I really like it. Perfect for cold days. I think it is kind of south western style, probably because of the color.

I really tried this time to take picture of me in the sweater, but I did not have any luck. Every picture was unclear. Unfortunately I do my knitting, gardening, blogging during the day, when everybody is out. Too bad my dog did not learn how to use the camera!

But he is very good at getting in the camera view.

 

I started new project- short sleeves sweater for the Summer. Just the thing to put over the summer dress!

Mystery of yellow tomatoes

 

I found out that my small tomatoe plants are not doing so great in our new flower bed. Center of plants was yellowish color.

I had suspicion that cement changed pH to high level. I was not sure that this was true, because our cement walls were under water for at lest four years( May be you remember it was water fountain first). I thought that water just flash everything out.

 

 O boy I was wrong! We bought test to check soil and of course pH level was too high.

So I start watering with slightly acidic water( just couple spoons of vinegar for 2 gallons of water) . I saw result in couple days!!!.

 

The rest of my plants are doing great!!!

Yarn Along

I am still knitting my down raglan sweater. I keep changing it a bit, so we will see how it will looks in the end.

I brought from Library "Murder, She meowed " by Rita Mae Brown. I found it because of the movie " Murder She Purred" with Ricki Lake. I know it is the old staff, but I just love that movie, partially because my daughter and I used to watch it together. Now my youngest son watch it with me. We both agree that our puppy looks a bit like Tucker from the movie- " king of the turkey wall".
