Yarn Along

My new project is Girl Friday cardigan from Knitty, Fall 2009.
Yarn is from Plain & Fancy Co in the grape color. Very nice and pleasant project!

I am reading Crocodile from the Land of  Charlotte by Joanna Chmelevska. Her mysteries are always so funny! She is one of my favorite writers!

Here is Cody having fun. Isn't he cute?

Hope you have great knitting and reading!

First snow

View from my bedroom window.  You can not see all the mountains in the snow fog.

Cody thinks that it is safer to enjoy snow from inside the house.

Cody finally get courage to go outside. I do not think that he trust that white stuff.

Hurray!!! Snow is here!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Fruit stand by the side of the road

On the way to the Taos Wool Festival we found a fruit stand. Local farmers were selling apples and other fruits. Usually we drive to Romero's orchard to pick apples by our self, but this year was very bad for fruits, particularly for apples. Early spring frost killed most flowers on apple trees in New Mexico. We were so glad to find local apples are still on market! We bought two big baskets. Apples smell divine!
So what you do when you have so many apples?

Apple pancakes are ones of my favorites, just like  banana's and chocolate chips pancakes.

Every year I prepare many bowls of apple chips- the best snack during  hiking.

AND of course apple pie- my little ones favorite dessert. He loved it since very early age.
Here is the prove.

Have a wonderful day!

The Wool Festival at Taos

It is one month later, but it is better later than never ( At least that what my mother used to tell me).
So, I am writing about our trip to Taos. The weather was beautiful! They had so many wonderful things: animals , yarn and many, many tools to play with.
My little one was positively sure that we needed a Loom and a Spinning wheel.
I was looking for one particular booth-Plain & Fancy Sheep & Wool Co.
Every time I visit festival at Taos I buy enormous amount of their yarn. Just love the texture and their colors! They mostly have one-ply yarn, very very soft . The biggest attractions are the colors!
I think the artist is very talented. Their booth is always full.
They have only one problem- they do not have website, so I can not buy this yarn on line!
In this case I need to buy yarn for whole year! Right?

On the way back we took small walk along the river.
The colors were amazing!!!

Have a wonderful day!
